PRACTICE TIME
On page 9 of the story, it said "Draw or Write about your ideas." Do that on your sketch paper.
You will get a new paper for the next step.
CREATE TIME
On page 10 of the story, it said "Share your ideas with the people around you". Each table will need to share an idea with the class. Each person draws their own vision of the idea.
Use colored pencils and half sheets of paper.
Jobs for create time:
RESPOND, REFINE
There are just a few minutes left to finish today's work.
Ask people around you for suggestions. How can you use your time to make your work look its best?
RESPOND means look carefully and say something helpful. REFINE means make it better.
CLEAN UP
It is everyone's job to clean up. People who got the pencils and colored pencils will put them away. People who got the paper will help make sure the pencil tray has only pencils and erasers, and the colored pencil bin has only colored pencils. Are pencil sharpeners back in their spot? Is there anything on the floor that should not be on the floor? When clean up is done, sit in your seat and be ready for REVIEW.
*If you are the SCRIBE today, fill out your class sheet and give it to Mrs. Nara when your class lines up.
REVIEW
Time to share what we learned and created.
Listen when it is another student's turn.
Speak in a clear, loud voice when it is your turn.
Mrs. Nara will let you know when it is time to line up.
What number did your class earn today? Do you know why?
